Of the 300 plus Members of the Soccer Section, the vast majority are active playing members, either for one of the six competitive men's teams, one of three social sides, or amongst the Club's junior sides. The Club First Team is the only amateur side to compete in the professional Hong Kong League First Division, while the Reserves also compete against professionals in the HKFA Reserve Division. Our Second Team, known as Lucky Mile, play in the Second Division against a mix of professional and other amateur sides, while Albion, Wanderers and Colts teams compete in the Yau Yee League, organised into four divisions of amateur teams playing on Sundays. At the youth level, Hong Kong Football Club Under 16's represent the Club in the Hong Kong Youth Championship, once again playing against the youth sides of professional clubs. All of these teams have an exceptional record of success over the years, often being crowned Division champions.

As well as an end-of-season six-a-side tournament and an annual competition between the social sides, there is a Christmas 'friendly' match between the Scottish and English Members of the Section, and teams represent the Club at 11-a-side and 7-a-side weekend tournaments held throughout Asia. Overseas tours have also included trips to places as exotic as Cuba, Venezuela, the Czech Republic, Chile and Argentina.

The annual Soccer Sevens, hosted by the Section and held on the main Club pitch in the last week of May, has quickly become a major international televised sporting event, featuring professional teams from England, Scotland, Holland, China, Japan, Hong Kong and other Asian countries. The event also features a Veterans tournament that has attracted many famous international players of days gone by. Other famous football personalities, such as Jack Charlton, Craig Brown, Tommy Docherty and Harry Redknapp have been guests of the Section to speak at Charity Dinners and fund raising events.

The aims of the Soccer Section are to compete at the highest level available, involve the Hong Kong community in as many teams and activities as possible and to contribute to raising the standard of 'the beautiful game' in Hong Kong. Equally important is providing Section Members with the opportunity to play a regular game of football and to enjoy a very active social scene.
