The Paris Wine Tasting of 1976 – known as the Judgment of Paris – was a wine competition organized in Paris in 1976, in which French judges carried out two blind tasting comparisons: one of top-quality Chardonnays and another of red wines (Bordeaux wines from France and Cabernet Sauvignon wines from California). A Californian wine rated best in each category, which caused surprise as France was generally regarded as being the foremost producer of the world’s best wines.

With a tailor made selection by our certified sommelier (CS) from the court of Master Sommelier, Mr. Florian Beaubouchez, join us for a fun and educative comparative tasting of French wines and their counterparts from USA including the world famous Chateau Montelena Napa Chardonnay that won the Judgment of Paris Competition (Current vintage).

Martin Campion
Founder and Senior Advisor of Campion College Consultancy

Before starting his own consultancy, Martin was Head of Careers and Higher Education at South Island School and for the last 20 years, advised hundreds of students and their families on the transition from school to university. He is the only university counsellor in Hong Kong to receive the Council of International Schools annual award to one college counsellor worldwide. In 2016, he also received the Yale Educator Award. Families can count on the fact that he has ‘been there’ as a parent and that he understands the secondary school context of their children.

Ruth Benny
Founder and ‘Head Girl’ of Top Schools, Hong Kong

The founder of Top Schools, Ruth has over 20 years’ experience in the education system in Hong Kong. Ruth writes and speaks about private and international schools for parents, corporations and other groups. She is a frequent contributor to local media including the SCMP, Playtimes and Sassy Mama and generally regarded as the go-to expert on this topic. Originally from the UK, Ruth has been in Hong Kong for over 22 years and is the mother of two children.
