Hockey Section

Hockey Section Official Website:

The Hockey Section has over 300 members who are registered with the Hong Kong Hockey Association. From this membership the Section fields a total of 15 teams, including eight Men's teams and seven Ladies' teams which compete in the Hong Kong League system and a number of knock-out cup competitions.

As one of the top clubs in Hong Kong Hockey, Hong Kong Football Club has been, and continues to be, one of the most successful in these competitions, often crowned Champions and Cup winners.

The HKFC Hockey Section has traditionally hosted an annual tournament at Easter since 1999. It has taken various formats over the time. In 2010, the tournament was re-launched as a 6-a-side competition with separate Men’s and Ladies competitions. Over the next few years HKFC Hockey hopes to grow the Hockey 6’s into a tournament that will bring as much excitement as the Rugby 10’s and Soccer 7’s does to HKFC and Hong Kong in general, bringing visitors to HKFC from around the World to play in a competitive but ultimately fun and very social hockey tournament.

The stature of Hockey within the Club is also evidenced by the international tournaments and matches it hosts. The Hockey 6s is now an international standard annual tournament which attracts teams from around the world, and the Club has played host to the Pacific Rim International Veterans tournament. In addition, many top international teams from leading Hockey nations have trained and played at the Club, including Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, Holland, Japan and Korea. Likewise our own sides tour frequently across Asia and the world, and every year they compete in tournaments in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.

In addition to the serious competitive sporting activities of the Section, there is a very active social scene with regular parties, dinners, a Christmas Party and formal End-of-Season Ball.

Allied to the Section there is a very active Junior Hockey group which attracts Members' and non-Members' children to learn the game of hockey from as young as six years old. The Junior Hockey Section participates on a regular basis with weekly training sessions. It competes in various age groups at Mini Hockey tournaments, and hosts one of the largest Mini tournaments in Hong Kong. The Youth and Mini teams have also established and annual tour to Singapore where they compete in the Asia Pacific Cup. The tour has become a highlight on the annual calendar.
